Life is hard, especially in the in-between.
The in-between of our careers & business.
The murky in-between of relationships.
The in-between of where we are & where we want our next season to be.
Where we want to go seems clear in theory.
But, in reality, all we often see are obstacles.
External factors and internal triggers often make it seem like there's no way out.
You feel imprisoned by the external factors getting in the way, maybe a lack of resources or support. Maybe you're embarking on something no one has ever done. Or, maybe your path just looks different. Everyone seems to be on straightforward paths, while your path comes with turn after turn. While everyone seems to be moving forward, you find yourself in wilderness after wilderness.
Maybe it's your internal triggers making you feel imprisoned & inadequate. Maybe the anxiety seems to be taking over, and you struggle to do things that seem so "basic" to others.
Regardless, life is hard. When holding all of your concerns & obstacles in every area of your life in your hands, it can seem overwhelming and heavy. It can feel like you're throwing rocks at a brick wall with none of your efforts getting through.
But, maybe instead of holding every obstacle, fear, and concern in your hands, put everything down. And, pick back up one thing you can focus on today.
Spread out all of your worries. Categorize them -- life, love, faith, work, family, etc. Then, instead of looking at a mountain of worries, you now have small rocks or areas you can work with.
Take that relationship that's been heavy on your mind -- what's the next best thing you can do? Is it a tough conversation you've been avoiding that you can initiate today?
Take that job or business that's been concerning you. Break it down even more. What's one aspect of that business or career that you can work on today?
When we hold all of our worries & fears at once, it's like looking at a mountain we can never get past. But, if we can put down the mountain, and take one area at a time, one step at a time, we can see that there are small actions we can take to keep the momentum going.
Life in itself is hard, and the big picture can seem impossible. But, today can be of ease. Not by beating yourself up because you can't handle everything thrown at you or happening within you. But because today, you choose to take it one step at a time, one area at a time, one hour at a time. This goes back to The Lord's Prayer, give me this day my daily bread.
May you have the strength, stamina, grace, and wisdom to conquer today. The path may seem daunting. But, you were never meant to tackle the path in one day. Keep taking the next step, and watch the path forge itself.
Walking with you, Mel
